Compliance and Ethics Week's purpose is to raise awareness of compliance and risk related topics, recognize ethical behavior, and reinforce values and behaviors for building a better U. The University has available resources for confidentially reporting sexual misconduct, including an online form, or in-person support through one of UM's Title IX Coordinators. You may also anonymously report allegations related to these issues through the University Hotline. If you have any questions, please email: ucs@miami.edu.
University Compliance Services' annual Compliance and Ethics Week interactive session took place on Monday, November 6, 2023. Facilitated by Maria Sevilla, Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the session, titled Preventing and Addressing Discrimination in the Workplace, covered the importance of preventing discrimination in the workplace and addressing inappropriate behavior.

In celebration of International Data Privacy Day on Thursday, January 28, 2021, UHealth Compliance invited all of you to virtually learn about ransomware incidents during COVID-19, data privacy issues with technical computing at UM, privacy concerns with telehealth, and practical tools and strategies to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.

Facilitated by Maria Sevilla, Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the session highlights the importance of compliance and ethics by understanding what is sexual misconduct, and cultivates a culture of compliance by learning how to address sexual harassment.
What would you do if you witnessed inappropriate or harassing behavior? Where do you go to report your own experience of sexual harassment? Answers to these questions and more were discussed at University Compliance Services' annual Compliance and Ethics Week event at the Coral Gables campus on Monday, November 4, 2019. The event was attended by over 70 University of Miami faculty, staff, and students who heard from keynote speaker Marcia Narine Weldon, Lecturer in Law at the University of Miami School of Law, regarding topics such as sexual harassment and misconduct.
