The University of Miami is committed to the highest standards of ethical behavior in keeping with the DIRECCT values.

The University is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. Employees should feel comfortable approaching their supervisor or manager to discuss instances where a violation of policies or standards may have occurred.

In those situations where an employee prefers to make an anonymous report, via the web or by telephone, the University Hotline can be used to report concerns related to violations of policies and procedures, rules and regulations, or other irregularities/improprieties. The University Hotline is hosted by EthicsPoint, a third party hotline provider. Reporting areas include the following:

  • Accounting and financial matters
  • Athletics
  • Human resources
  • Information technology
  • Medical Regulatory Compliance
  • Privacy, data safety, and security issues
  • Research
  • Risk and safety matters
  • Student Affairs
  • Other

Reported information will be forwarded to the University by EthicsPoint on a confidential and anonymous basis - if that is the preference of the person filing the report. All reported incidents will be considered and, where appropriate, investigated. University of Miami employees who report an activity that may be in violation of a law, rule, or regulation are protected against retaliation by the Whistleblower Protection Statement located at https://umiami.policystat/WhistleBlower.

University Hotline is open to any individual who wishes to report a concern regarding irregularities at the University of Miami.

To Make a Report

You may use either of the following two methods to submit a report:

After you complete your report, you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password, and keep them in a safe place. After three business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.
