The University has a designated Title IX Coordinator to coordinate the University’s efforts to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ("Title IX"). In addition, the University may also designate Deputy Title IX Coordinators to work with the Title IX Coordinator in that effort.
Title IX is a federal law that protects students, employees, applicants for admission and employment, and other persons (collectively, “Covered Persons”) from all forms of sex discrimination, including discrimination based on gender identity or failure to conform to stereotypical notions of masculinity or femininity. Covered Persons at educational institutions are protected by Title IX—regardless of their sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, part- or full-time status, disability, race, or national origin—in all aspects of the institution’s educational programs and activities. Prohibited sex discrimination under Title IX also includes discriminating against or excluding any student from its education program or activity, including any class or extracurricular activity on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or recovery therefrom.
